Deus Ex: Invisible War - Windows 7 Fix

Recently I tried to play Deus Ex: Invisible War, but I couldn't run it, it would instantly crash as soon as I open the dx2.exe file.
The reason why it won't run isn't clear.

I looked for a solution and found a way to fix this problem.
To fix this crash you need to patch the game with the euro 1.2 fixed exe, which you can download here.

To install the patch just replace the old dx2.exe, which can be found at
"...\Deus Ex - Invisible War\System\"
with the patched one provided in the RAR file.

    Great! Thank you, even though it's not the best game, it's Deus Ex and I'm happy to play it.

    Very Much appreciated, I like all the Deus Ex games and was pissed off when Windows 7 refused to play this one....I got a reliable fix for the first Deus Ex from "Kentie", so I am happy! Thank you!

    This worked for me, but I also had to make some changes in the file Default.ini on the system folder of Deus Ex.

    Change the parameters:

    * StartupFullscreen=True to False
    * UseFullscreen=True to False

    Then the game started correctly and levels loaded.

    You can change the resolution so the window will become larger. To do so go to your my documents folder and on the Deus Ex - Invisible War edit the file user.ini and search for WindowedViewportX=1024 and WindowedViewportY=768 change them accordingly.

    This really does work, thanks - so annoying when a game will not even open. It still has an issue with going back to the desktop inbetween location changes but goes back to the game itself, so I am not complaining as at least it now runs. Great stuff!
